Briana Goldstrow, LMT (she/her) has always been interested in the body and how touch and physical manipulation encourages healing. Her parents are both practitioners in the field (osteopathy and shiatsu) and she grew up experiencing the value of massage firsthand. She is a NYS Licensed Massage Therapist, a graduate of Swedish Institute College of Health Sciences, and a DONA-trained doula. Briana combines Eastern and Western modalities of manual manipulation to assess and treat the body. She is trained in medical massage and other techniques including Shiatsu, myofascial release, reflexology, lymphatic drainage, trigger point release, Alexander technique, and more.
Briana’s work before and during these studies has always involved children, beginning with babysitting and continuing on to be the director and lead teacher at a private NYC preschool for 6 years. As a former dancer and gymnast she knows how integral bodywork is to maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Briana specializes in prenatal/postpartum and infant massage and chronic/acute pain management. Areas of focus include TMJ, migraines/headaches, GI issues, sleep issues, scar tissue manipulation, and postural alignment/assessment. Briana loves to teach her patients how to have better body awareness and to use self-massage techniques to improve their relationship to their body and mind. Her motto is “everybody with a body could use a massage.” Briana aims to encourage the body to heal itself and return to homeostasis by taking a holistic approach to pain management and overall wellness.
