Lead Massage Therapist

Yvonne Delgado, LMT

Yvonne Delgado, LMT (she/her) brings a rare combination of personal training, physical therapy collaboration, and clinical massage expertise to her work at Bodyworks DW. After leaving a corporate career in 2011, she transitioned into health and performance—first as a certified Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor, then working closely with award-winning Physical Therapists throughout New York City.

That movement-first foundation now informs her clinical massage practice. Yvonne specializes in sports-related strain patterns, postural dysfunction, recovery work, and pregnancy massage—always beginning with assessment and always tailoring pressure and technique to what your body needs that day.

She frequently works with clients navigating plantar fasciitis, knee pain, hip tightness, sciatica, tech-neck, low back pain,  and pelvic discomfort.

  • Performance + Rehab Lens

Before becoming an LMT, Yvonne worked as a certified personal trainer and spent years alongside physical therapists. She understands how strength, compensation patterns, and rehabilitation timelines influence pain. That crossover shows up in her sessions—especially with athletic clients or those transitioning out of PT.

  • Muscle Energy + Corrective Strategy

Her advanced training in Muscle Energy Techniques and corrective exercise allows her to address asymmetries and joint restrictions with precision. She doesn’t just press into tight tissue—she works with the nervous system and joint mechanics to reset patterns more efficiently.

  • Calm Precision Under Pressure

Yvonne’s demeanor is steady and grounded, but her work is technically exacting. Clients who want focused, thoughtful treatment without drama or intensity-for-the-sake-of-intensity tend to match well with her style.

  • Best Fit

Is Yvonne the right therapist for you?

    A great fit if you:

    • You’re active and want treatment that supports performance and recovery

    • You’ve worked with PT or trainers and want your massage therapist to “speak that language”

    • You’re dealing with sports-related strain, overuse patterns, or muscular imbalance

    • You have chronic pain from prior injuries such as hip, back, shoulders, neck, or knee pain.
    • You appreciate calm focus paired with technical precision

Not the best fit if you want:

    • You want a purely spa-style relaxation massage with no assessment

    • You’re looking for extreme pressure without communication or pacing

    • You prefer a routine, identical session each visit regardless of progress

    What shapes Yvonne's work

Yvonne’s path into bodywork began with a career shift. After leaving corporate work in 2011, she committed fully to health and wellness—becoming a certified Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor at Equinox. Immersed in anatomy, biomechanics, and corrective exercise, she developed a sharp eye for movement patterns and muscular imbalance.

Her years working under award-winning physical therapists in New York City shaped her clinical lens. Observing rehabilitation protocols, injury progressions, and structured treatment planning influenced the way she now designs massage sessions: specific, progressive, and responsive to change.

As a NYS Licensed Massage Therapist, Yvonne expanded her hands-on skillset through certifications in Sports Massage (including Muscle Energy Techniques), lymphatic drainage, and therapeutic cupping. She continues to pursue advanced education in deep myofascial release and corrective exercise integration to sharpen both assessment and application.

Clients often notice her calm presence first—but quickly recognize the precision behind it. She customizes each session to the individual rather than following a preset formula. Whether supporting athletic recovery, addressing chronic tension, or navigating prenatal changes, her goal is steady, measurable improvement—not temporary relief.

    What Clients Notice

Yvonne was very thorough in assessing my physical needs and listening to my requests and feedback. She gave a great massage treatment and provided me with detailed ways to attend to problem areas on my own in addition to future massage appointments. She took into account adjustments and accommodations to my congenital condition.
