Location
Best for
Chronic pain that keeps coming back, post‑surgical stiffness/swelling, and multi‑area patterns
Core Style
Assessment‑first. Treat what’s driving it—not just where it hurts. Structured series when needed. Good intense, not brutal
What you’ll leave with
A clear plan: what we worked on, what changed today, and 1–3 next steps to help results hold between visits
WHY David
Precise work.
Clear next steps.
David isn’t just an experienced therapist—he built the Bodyworks DW Method and trains the team to use it.
Treatment planning, not guesswork
Evaluation first—then targeted work and a simple plan so progress compounds between visits.
He teaches what he does
David teaches continuing education for massage therapists nationwide in the same areas clients come in for: head/neck/jaw, shoulders, ribs/diaphragm, hips/low back, knees, feet/ankles—plus assessment & treatment design.
Deep technical training + movement lens
Advanced training in myofascial release, neuromuscular therapy, connective tissue work, movement re‑education, and structural integration influences. Aikido practice since 1996 shapes how he thinks about efficient movement and mechanics.
He trains the whole studio
Can’t find a time with David? You can still book with confidence—everyone is mentored in‑house to the same standard.
Best Fit
Is David the right therapist for you?
A great fit if you:
- Have pain that keeps returning (even after “good massages”)
- Have a multi‑area pattern (neck + jaw + headaches; low back + hip + nerve symptoms)
- Are post‑surgical and want safe, targeted work that respects where you are in healing
- Have a “complex” issue that hasn’t stuck with usual approaches
- Want a therapist who evaluates first and explains the “why” clearly
Not the best fit if you want:
- A spa‑only relaxation massage with no evaluation or plan
- The deepest pressure possible without pacing or check‑ins

HOW David WORKS
How sessions work—and why results hold
Listen + assess
Your story + a few movement checks (quick, practical, not performative).
Targeted treatment
David blends deep tissue, myofascial, neuromuscular/trigger‑point, and orthopedic techniques—based on what your body needs that day.
Re‑check + next steps
We re‑test what matters, then you leave with a simple plan and 1–3 next steps to help results hold between visits.
time not styles
You book time (60 or 90 minutes). After evaluation, we choose the right blend—no spa menu.
support beyond the table
When helpful, David can coordinate with your PT/MD/trainer so your plan stays aligned.

What shapes David's work
David’s exploration of bodywork began long before massage school. At sixteen, a 16‑week introductory shiatsu course sparked his curiosity about how touch influences the body.
In his twenties, sports and musician‑related injuries led to hundreds of hours receiving deep tissue massage, acupuncture, Rolfing, Alexander Technique, Pilates, and yoga—experiences that gave him an unusually deep client perspective on what truly helps the body heal.
Today he divides his time between hands‑on work with clients three days per week, mentorship and training for every Bodyworks DW therapist, and leadership—guiding the studio’s growth as a hub for client care and professional development.
Outside the studio: guitar, aikido, vintage motorcycles, and comics. Alongside his wife, Amanda Dickinson, he hunts for mid‑century treasures at estate sales, furnishing the studios and Amanda’s shop, Diamond Dust Vintage.
