Relieving Arthritis: Assessment & Treatment Strategies
Arthritis is one of the most common conditions you’ll see—but also one of the easiest to get wrong.
Many therapists either avoid affected joints entirely or apply pressure that aggravates inflammation and pain.
In this on-demand clinical training, you’ll learn how to assess different types of arthritis, understand when massage is appropriate, and apply treatment that reduces pain and improves movement—without making symptoms worse.

THE CLINICAL WHY
The joint isn’t always where you start—and sometimes it’s where you shouldn’t work.
Arthritis is often treated as a local joint issue—but pain and restriction don’t exist in isolation.
In many cases, the surrounding musculature, movement patterns, and load distribution play a bigger role in symptoms than the joint itself.
At the same time, inflamed joints don’t tolerate pressure the way healthy tissue does—meaning the wrong approach can increase irritation rather than relieve it.
Massage can help reduce pain, improve circulation, and temporarily improve mobility—but only when applied at the right time, in the right way.
This course shifts the focus from “working on arthritic joints” to understanding how to support them—by improving the system around them and adapting treatment to the client’s current presentation.

Your Instructor
Learn from a clinician who treats joint pain as part of a system

This course reflects how real treatment decisions are made in session—not simplified protocols.
