THE CLINICAL WHY

If the foundation is off, everything above it compensates.

The feet and ankles are the body’s base of support.

When they’re misaligned or restricted, the effects don’t stay local—they travel up the chain, influencing the knees, hips, pelvis, and low back.

Most treatments focus on symptoms higher up without addressing the foundation driving those issues.

This course shifts the focus from “treating foot pain” to understanding how foot and ankle function impacts the entire body—and how to treat it with clear intent.

WHO THIS IS FOR

Built for therapists who want better outcomes—
not a bigger technique list

Great fit if you want to...

  • Stop treating feet/ankles in isolation and confidently address the compensation chain (knee/hip/low back)
  • Get clearer at assessment: what’s limited, what’s misaligned, what’s compensating
  • Learn practical sequences you can run prone, side‑lying, and supine (so you’re not stuck in one setup)
  • Spend two days doing hands‑on work with coached practice, not just watching

Not ideal if you…

  • Want theory only (this course is built around demo + practice)
  • Prefer “more techniques = better” instead of assessment + sequencing (Bodyworks DW teaches the opposite)

IN THE ROOM

Skills you can use the very next workday

  • Lower‑leg anatomy that matters clinically

Gain an understanding of the anatomy and healthy function of the lower leg—and how it relates to the upper leg, pelvis, and back. You’ll learn what actually matters for load, stacking, and common compensation patterns.

  • Assessment: what’s limited, what’s compensating

Learn to assess limitations and misalignments in the ankle and foot (and surrounding structures) that contribute to discomfort and pain. Then use simple re‑tests (e.g., {ADD: key screens/re‑tests}) so your work is measurable—not guesswork.

  • Hands‑on MFR in multiple positions

Learn to apply myofascial release techniques in multiple positions to improve movement and alignment of the ankles and feet. Expect a hands‑on rhythm: demo → coached partner practice → refine, with feedback so the work translates to real clients.

  • Sequences you can use immediately

Specific techniques and sequences you can use with clients in prone, side‑lying, and supine positions—plus time for hands‑on practice. You’ll apply them to plantar/heel/toe/shin patterns—and learn when to zoom out to knee/hip/low‑back drivers.

  • A clear plan—so you know exactly
what you’re buying

    A structured 2-day clinical progression

    11:00–11:30
Principles of foot and ankle mechanics + how structure affects the entire body

Assessment + bodyreading: identifying alignment issues, weight distribution, and restriction patterns
    Hands-on practice and guided refinement

    1:00–2:00
Connecting structure to symptoms: plantar fasciitis, heel pain, shin splints, and compensation patterns

    2:00–3:00

    3:00–6:00
Partner practice: foundational myofascial release techniques (prone + supine)
    Instructor-guided refinement and clinical application

    Second Day

    11:00–11:30
Principles of treatment sequencing and load distribution through the lower body

    11:30–1:00

    What Therapists say

“The “this changed how I work” kind of course. Opening my mind to spending a whole 60 minutes on the lower leg… blew my mind and has opened up a whole new world for me to explore with my clients!”
